Check out today’s Rochester D&C for a refreshingly fact-based piece of journalism (written by Jon Hand) regarding pitbulls. Even though it gives voice to the other side of the issue, it lets the facts speak for themselves.
It also lays out many of the struggles we face as pitty owners, as well as many of the unfortunate pitbull-relates incidents in recent Rochester history.
The article’s closing statement cuts to the core of what we must do as responsible pitbull owners:
“We have to tell people when they rescue an animal that they will get dirty looks, people will cross the street. They have to become ambassadors for the breed.”
-Gillian Hargrave, vice president and COO, Lollypop Farm.
